"SEASONAL VARIATIONS, CLIMATE CHANGE, AND THE THERMAL
HISTORY OF MARS FROM MARS GLOBAL SURVEYOR TOPOGRAPHY AND GRAVITY"
Precise global measurements of topography and gravity
from the Mars Global Surveyor spacecraft have resulted in dramatic increases
in our understanding of the surface and interior of Mars. This presentation
will highlight the latest results of analyses of the static and time-varying
fields as they relate to Mars' surface physiography, the sources and sinks
of volatiles and their transport and cycling over time, the thermal evolution
of the planet and evidence for climatic change.
