Mass moves in the Earth system on
all timescales for astronomical, geophysical and climatic reasons. The
mass movements in turn cause the Earth's rotation and gravity field to
vary. How do they vary and how do we observe? What do the
variations
tell us about Earth system and why do we care? This is a fascinating
subject involving almost all aspects of Earth dynamics.
